Bio

Dr. Craig Wilson has a passion for care and healing of his patients, which comes from his personal experience of injury. While in high school, Dr. Wilson injured his knee during a wrestling match and required surgery. During the same time he was taking anatomy and sports medicine classes, which lead to a great interest and awareness of how his providers were improving his life and the life of others. Wanting to provide the same level of care, he was lead on the path to becoming an Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Dr. Wilson studied Biology and Pre-Medicine at Augustana College and graduated cum laude while remaining on the Dean’s List. He spent time in Sydney, Australia at Macquarie University studying the migration of humpback whales. He then went on to attend Southern Illinois University of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine. While there, he was an Orthopaedic Research Intern where he researched pediatric fractures and worked on patient education. Dr. Wilson completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery from Southern Illinois University in 2020, graduating with Honors. He is interested in hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty, shoulder and knee arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, cubital tunnel release, and fracture treatment.

“Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out. While this applies to all aspects of life, it definitely applies to injuries. A positive attitude and the drive to put in the effort needed makes a huge difference in outcomes.”

Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, reading, lifting weights, and is learning how to play golf and hunt.
