Certification & Education

Dr. Giselle J. Tan is an orthopaedic surgeon that is fellowship trained in Foot and Ankle injuries. She joined Great Plains Orthopaedics in the fall of 2017. Some of her more common procedures include ankle ligament reconstruction, bunion surgery, ankle fusions, and various surgeries for severe trauma of the foot and ankle.  She also performs total ankle replacements for patients with appropriate indications.

Dr. Tan is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) as well as the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS).

While not busy attending to her patients, Dr. Tan enjoys spending time with her family.  She also enjoys playing ice hockey, wildlife photography, and hiking in national parks.  In the winter months, she likes to snowboard, and she was a certified snowboard instructor prior to her full-time commitment to medicine.


Before entering medical school, Dr. Tan was involved in molecular engineering of antibodies targeting cancer cells and has many publications in that field.  Some of her more notable work in orthopaedics include the following:
