Dr. James W. Maxey...

Dr. Maxey, a native of Pekin, Illinois joined the orthopaedic practice in 1991 after completing college and medical school at the University of Illinois. He did an orthopaedic surgery residency at Wayne State University in Detroit and a fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He specializes in fracture care and orthopaedic trauma surgery. He is married and has two children who are both in high school at IVC in Chillicothe. He is the team physician for Bradley University and Illinois Valley Central High School. Additionally, Dr. Maxey is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, an instructor in orthopaedic trauma for Bradley University Department of Physical Therapy, and has participated in the design and development of some of the newest and most widely utilized devices for repair of traumatic bone injuries. He is a gardener, golfer and a very dedicated duck hunter. He travels throughout the United States and Europe lecturing as an expert in orthopaedic trauma care.
